Melanie Davis, PhD, CSC, CSE, CSE-S

Sexuality Counselor, Educator, Speaker, Consultant, and Trainer

Thanks for stopping by!  I look forward to helping you meet your goals for sexuality counseling and education, whether for your professional or for personal use.
My work in sexuality education began in 1984, when I became a Planned Parenthood patient educator.  In 1999, I was trained to facilitate the Our Whole Lives Lifespan Sexuality Education program for young teens, and their parents’ questions led me to create workshops and write Sexuality Talking Points. That response to my programs and parent manual led me to enter Widener University’s Graduate Program in Human Sexuality Education, from which I earned MEd and PhD degrees. My dissertation was titled, “Sexuality Education as Perceived by Physicians and Therapists: An Assessment of Attitudes about and Interest in Referring Patients to Sexuality Educators.”
My mission is to help people learn about and enjoy healthy sexuality. As an AASECT-Certified Sexuality Educator, I consult privately with individuals and couples at the New Jersey Center for Sexual Wellness, which I co-founded in 2009. In 2017 I started Life Reset to help people with life-change needs beyond their sexual lives, helping them visualize and set goals and take manageable, success-oriented steps toward happier, more fulfilling lives.
Through my firm Honest Exchange, I provide professional development and presentations for physicians, nurses, medical students, long-term care professionals, educators, and clergy. Many of these programs are provided through medical meetings and national conferences.
I am an adjunct professor for graduate programs at Widener University, and I have taught at Drexel University, Moravian Theological Seminary (graduate) and Moravian College (undergraduate), and Marymount Manhattan College (undergraduate). I am the Our Whole Lives Sexuality Education Program Manager for the Unitarian Universalist Association.
In addition to my sexuality educator certification, I am a certified Sexuality counselor and educator supervisor through the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists.
I am on the Advisory Council of the Woodhull Sexual Freedom Alliance, and I am the co-president of the Sexuality and Aging Consortium at Widener University.
I co-founded and coordinate, an educational site for sexually active and/or interested adults in mid- and older age. I also co-founded the Careers in Sexuality Professional Skills Conference at Widener University, which has become a highly popular annual event.
In every area of my work, I approach sexuality as a positive part of life that should be treated with respect, care, integrity, celebration, and humor throughout the lifespan.

How can I help you?— Melanie
